Feel pretty good about yourself. No, really. Be happy.

I know the internet wants you to feel like shit for buying a lifted wagon that isn't really a wagon, but don't. Feel happy that you bought what you like. Be happy that absurd flavours like the S Q5 exist.

Be happy that they are very competent cars. Don't be sad that you have "experts" trashing your car of choice.

Why can't we all just get along?

I wanted a A3 hatch, so I went down to the Audi dealership and said so.

"Sorry sir, the hatch has been discontinued in the US. It is now a 4 door sedan. Would you be interested in a Q5 or Allroad?"

I explained it was moronic to get rid of the A3 hatch, people who come in looking for a small four door sedan will now go downmarket in price from the A4 to the A3, netting Audi of America less money. If they want a hot hatch I just don't see people going way up in price to a grocery getter like the Allroad or an SUV. They will look elsewhere at something like the VW GTi or Golf R or a Subaru WRX (which is going all sedan now too, getting rid of the hatch for 2015...!!).

I'm just mad at the lack of hatch options in the US. I like hatchback cars, they are convenient for transporting stuff like furniture or bicycles or camping gear without having to use a truck (Ford dumped the ranger in hopes of upselling customers on the F-150... don't get me started on that) all the time.

It almost feels like pretty soon our options for hatches are going to be VW and Mazda. Everything else is a crossover or a small SUV, not conducive to hoonage and sporty driving.

Okay, done my rant.

In fairness, our hatch options have gotten much better in the last 2 years, but only on the low end

Spark, Sonic, Fiesta, Focus, Golf, Mazda 2, Mazda 3, Prius C/V (I know...), Lexus CT200h

Then the hotter versions, Fiesta and Focus ST, MS3, GTI...

interesting the sq5 has a higher gear ratio... wonder if thats the main reason why you shave .9 seconds off.

why does one get the sq5 over the 3.0T q5?

I can't get on the Fiesta ST fan bangwagon, by all accounts it is a great car, but I don't like the look. Maybe if I drove one I could come around. Focus is aight, I guess.

I am more interested in the BMW/Audi/Mercedes hatches/wagons. I dig the styling, even if they are overpriced eurotrash.
